Ursula K. Le Guin – Hino ao tempo

Ursula K. Le Guin – Hino ao tempo

O Tempo diz “Que haja”
e instantaneamente, a todo instante,
existe espaço e o esplendor
de cada galáxia brilhante.

E olhos contemplando o céu cintilante.
E a dança dos mosquitos, tremulante.
E a extensão do mar.
E a morte, e o azar.

O tempo deixa espaço
para ir e voltar para casa
e no ventre do tempo
tudo começa e acaba.

Tempo é ser e ser é tempo
é tudo o mesmo elemento,
o brilho, a visão,
a abundante escuridão.

Hymn to time

Time says “Let there be”
every moment and instantly
there is space and the radiance
of each bright galaxy.

And eyes beholding radiance.
And the gnats’ flickering dance.
And the seas’ expanse.
And death, and chance.

Time makes room
for going and coming home
and in time’s womb
begins all ending.

Time is being and being
time, it is all one thing,
the shining, the seeing,
the dark abounding.
